  • Choose a player to go first and play proceeds clockwise thereafter.

ON A PLAYER’S TURN

On the player’s turn, the player draws a Hangry Bear card and does one of the following:

If the Hangry Bear card is a food card, the player can choose to add the food card to their Bear Buffet if matching conditions are met, or the player can switch the card with a face up food card in the center and add the card to their Bear Buffet if matching conditions are met, or switch the card with an Action card in the center area and complete the action, or just place the card face up in the center area.

If the drawn Hangry Bear card is an Action card, the player can choose to either play the Action card, or switch the Action card with any card in the face up center area, or just place the Action card face up in the center area. If the Action card is switched with a food card in the center area and is added to the player’s Bear Buffet then matching conditions apply.

After an Action card is played, it is set aside unless it is the Leftovers card which is set to the side of the player’s buffet and counts as an extra point at the end of the round.

Matching conditions require that the food cards have the same number or that it is from the same food category but is a different food item. Wild cards match all other food cards.

Matching conditions do not apply when an Action card is used to move food cards from one player to another. If a space is created in a player’s buffet because of an Action card, simply slide the buffet cards together closing the gap.

Play continues clockwise until a player has seven Hangry Bear cards in their Bear Buffet at which time the game ends immediately and players count the total points in their Bear Buffet.

Play two or three rounds and add the points from each round to determine the total point score for each player. The player with the highest point total wins.
